This interview backdrop reminds me of the interviews of the bollywood stars from the 90s and early 2000s. I dont think its so much that it “went wrong.” I think that some stories need a different platform so it can showcase more than one or two themes. What I mean is that not all productions be a theater movie. Sometimes its better to make it a 2 or more part series on Netflix or Amazon so there is enough space to depict these different aspects of the story. The focus in the movie IS important. But so is character background and development. You can have both and weave it all together in a tight piece if you have the right platform. And, lets face it. Deepika would draw as many or more people on a steaming service platform, especially because this isnt a film with bombastic FX. It would be different if there were bombs, guns, fast cars, planes, spaceships, etc. Those things are amazing to see on the big screen with specialized speaker systems. But Chhapak isnt that. So it would work. Too bad they didnt go there.
